In short, it stands for: What Would JD Do?
I had a mentor named JD who never, ever lost his cool. (Okay, once he did, but that was a fucked-up circumstance!)
The place could be on fire, and he’d be calm, directing traffic, cool as a cucumber.
For an entire year, I thought he hated me because he never showed emotion when he looked at you. Not an unsettling stare, just one that saw through any bullshit you tried to pull.
We became friends while he was the exec sous at the JPL. It’s been over twenty years since he was my boss, but I still hold myself to the execution expectations he set when assigning a task: No matter what, let it roll off your back and deal with it.
Oh, and by the way, this page is always under construction—because, just like renovating your house, there’s always room for a refresh. Consider it a work in progress, just like all of us.
P.S. Yes, we realize the featured image is a set of wrestling moves. Consider it a bit of irony—sometimes life feels like a wrestling match, and keeping your cool is the ultimate move.
